For this exercise, I want you to make a Responsive HTML & CSS Resumé
It must be a single page of HTML and a single CSS file.
It will list:
- your education
- your employment history
- your skills
- your interests
- your contact info
- anything else you think is worth including
This could include a picture, or references, links to work you have online (such as portfolio sites), links to LinkedIn profiles, etc.
The main concern here is that your layout adapts to different screen sizes and that your text is readable as possible at all screen sizes.
And it must be beautiful.
Pay close attention to
- typographic hieararchy: is it easy to understand, at a glance, the structure of your content?
- line length & line-height: at various responsive breakpoints, is your text easily readable?
- color: does color add to the resumé, or distract from it?
- branding: do the resumé’s design choices contribute to a professional image?
Make sure that both your HTML & CSS pass validation without errors.
Definitely spellcheck and grammar check. Writing errors have a huge effect on how your professional brand will be perceived.
IMPORTANT
Please do not copy code from the Internet (apart from Google fonts or Font Awesome code). There are tons of templates people can download or generate. And, of course, now there are AI tools like ChatGPT.
Don’t do that. Make the HTML & CSS yourself.
MARKING RUBRIC
Like other weekly lab exercises, this exercise is out of one mark.
The mark will be for the code and the design.
